Robert Floyd lives in Surfside Beach, South Carolina and works for Horry County Government as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Before that, he was the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Interactive Data Systems, a Virginia based systems integrator delivering strategy, integration, application, and cybersecurity services to small to mid-sized hospitals and healthcare providers throughout Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Robert has deep experience in cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, software development, data architecture, and systems analysis and design gained from working in a variety of different sectors across a wide range of enterprises on an extensive portfolio of projects. Robert’s experience includes leading and managing the people, process, and technology needed for successful cybersecurity programs.
Robert holds a M.S. in the Management of IT from the University of Virginia, a M.A. in Leadership from Liberty University, and a B.S. in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland. In addition, Robert maintains professional certifications in IT and cybersecurity including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and Certified Network Defense Architect (CNDA). Robert is also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps where he served tours throughout Europe, Beirut, and Quantico.
In his spare time Robert enjoys staying active with CrossFit, surfing, and beach life.
